ROLE DEFINITION

The Maintenance Manager has overall responsibility and accountability for the execution of maintenance activities. The role provides leadership, direction, and coordination of a balance between production and sound equipment management.

The manager is the primary person responsible for implementation of and compliance with the Maintenance Management Continuous Improvement Plan (MMCI).

The focus is on results regarding safety, equipment/plant availability and reliability, promoting a partnership attitude with operations and other work groups, and for monitoring and controlling maintenance costs. The Manager is responsible for identifying obsolete systems/processes and to develop and implement new systems and processes. The Manager directs the administration and compliance of the MMCI Plan through his direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager is responsible and accountable to ensure maintenance objectives are in alignment with the area business plan and optimization of processes, practices, methodology, and technological applications to achieve equipment reliability and availability. The manager will embrace a strong commitment to safety as their top priority, and ensure compliance with all applicable Federal / State Regulations and Kraft Foods / Oscar Mayer specifications and standards.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible and accountable for the development, compliance and effective execution of the maintenance and equipment management program by:

• Ensuring a culture where Safety emphasizes personal awareness and responsibility.

• Ensuring safe maintenance practices and systems are established and that applicable Federal/State regulations and Kraft Foods / Oscar Mayer policies/standards are complied with.

• Ensuring the MMCI is administered to meet the company’s business objectives.

• Ensuring compliance with Kraft Foods / Oscar Mayer business plan, policies, standards, and procedures.

• Establishing department goals, objectives, and resource management.

• Maintenance procedures that are proactive and performance managed.

• Promoting a work environment that motivates peers and subordinates and facilitates cooperation among different work groups.

• Instilling a culture of employee ownership in equipment care and operation.

• Providing direction, mentoring, support, and training to maintenance personnel.

• Promoting open communications throughout the department and with other work groups.

• Professional interaction with peers and senior management.

• Providing direction and expectations to maintenance/operational work groups regarding planned and scheduled proactive maintenance to achieve business goals and objectives.

• Proactively manage preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance processes.

• Holding direct reports accountable in their areas of responsibilities.

• Evaluating and communicate subordinate performance.

• Preparation of department maintenance budget.

• Monitoring and controlling area maintenance costs with an effective cost control program.

• Reviewing and monitoring contract maintenance services, special and major projects

• Optimizing and monitoring resource utilization of personnel levels, time, and equipment.

• Asset management strategy development and equipment life-cycle management.

• Participate in audits of maintenance management program elements and KPI’s.

QUALIFICATIONS

The Maintenance Manager shall be aware of the requirements and results of activities in their area of responsibility.

Qualification and skills establish this role as a proactive leader in the development and execution of world-class

maintenance practices that incorporate continuous improvement and best practice philosophies.

The Maintenance Manager must have the following qualifications and skills:

• Demonstrated commitment to Safety

• Bachelor’s Degree required

• 3-5 years manufacturing experience required

• Strategic, conceptual, and analytical skills

• Subscribes to Kraft Foods / Oscar Mayer Vision and Values

• Business and financial skills

• Demonstrated organizational and team leadership skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skill

• Strong work ethic and self-motivated

• Competent computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet software

• Knowledge of Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

• Knowledgeable in the use and integration of predictive and preventative maintenance principles
