Talent Acquisition Manager - 6 Month FTC

Thomas Cook

Global Talent Acquisition Manager (6 month FTC)
Location: London
Salary: £50-55k

In this role, you can help complete what’s been called the “most important business turnaround since the financial crisis” by the MD of Credit Suisse. Since 2012, Thomas Cook, the iconic travel operator, has transformed its fortunes. We’ve returned to the FTSE 250, driving forward an innovative digital and ecommerce agenda that has revolutionised our performance.

HR has been at the heart of this meteoric turnaround. Now, as we look to drive through the second wave of change, you’ll play a vital role, sourcing the talent we need for a wide range of Transformation roles across the globe. This is a high-level strategic role, where you’ll help shape the future of our organisation.

We’ll look to you to develop and deliver creative sourcing strategies that attract and retain the talent we need to continue driving change. Managing the full life cycle from initiation to employment offer, you’ll develop the way we do everything from designing campaigns, to handling response and assessing candidates. We’ll give you the freedom and financial resources you need to deliver the highly-innovative, highly-successful talent acquisitions solutions you know you’re capable of creating.

Desirable experience and skills

This role offers huge autonomy, scope and opportunities. It also carries big responsibilities. You need to have the ideas, know-how and drive to deliver the talent we need to tight timescales, in an exciting but challenging environment where things change fast. It’s exhilarating, rewarding and career defining – but it’s not for the faint-hearted.

We’ll look on you as a real expert, so you need to have in-depth experience of recruiting high-quality candidates in-house at a sizeable global company – and in using next generation resourcing methodologies to do so. (For example, online sourcing using social media, candidate tracking and talent pooling should be second nature to you.) You’re also well versed in attracting high-level Head Office candidates – particularly those with e-Commerce and digital skill sets.

You have the ability to build the strongest relationships with everyone from suppliers to senior stakeholders and prospective candidates – and you’re also a seasoned project manager. Passionate, resilient, and capable of delivering to the tightest of deadlines, you’ve shown time and again that you leave no stone unturned to get great results.

The transformation of Thomas Cook continues.

One of the world’s leading travel companies with sales of over £9 billion and more than 20 million customers, we’ve been radically restructuring our operation over the last two years. It’s one of the most ambitious corporate transformations in Europe. Now we’re ready to embark on the next phase of the transformation: Wave 2. This will see us extending the same ‘high-tech, high-touch’ approach to our support functions, including HR. It’s all about professionalising our entire organisation in line with our new business model through creation of a single integrated HR System - and we need your skills to make it happen.
