As an Accounting Analyst 1, located in Winnipeg, MB, you will work closely with your supervisor and team participating in one-on-one, on the job and some online training. The role will provide a great learning opportunity if you’re looking for a progressive challenge. In addition to business support there are opportunities to actively participate in strategic projects that incorporate business solutions, accounting processes and I/T system enhancements. You will have working relationships with various members of the Cargill AgHorizons 50+ country locations.
Principal Accountabilities:
As a member of one of the Finance Team’s three accounting departments, you will work with a team of professionals with varying levels of experience and education who deliver accurate data processing, prepare account reconciliation and provide excellent customer service. Duties may include:
- Accounts payables and receivables administration
- Prepare and analyze account, inventory and/or foreign exchange reconciliations
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports
- Involvement in monthly P&L analysis, or portions of
- Prepare journal entries as required for accurate accounting and reporting
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
- Build relationships with internal and external customers
- Provide backup coverage as required
- Assist with projects as directed by supervisor

Completion of post -secondary education in accounting or related area or equivalent experience

Proficient in Excel including: Formulas, sorting and filters

Demonstrated initiative with a passion to learn

Analytical thinker with strong organizational and prioritization skills

Demonstrated ability to monitor work and check for accuracy and thoroughness

Effective team player and collaborator with excellent communication skills
