As a member of the Supplier Quality Engineering Team, the individual will be responsible for developing and implementing solutions that span across multiple decorative finishes suppliers and applicators for Dell's notebook lines of the business. These solutions will involve product development & qualification, supplier development, and factory readiness. Delivering these solutions will require strong technical and project management skills, with the ability to deal with ambiguity and drive for results.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Procurement, Technology Providers, Dell suppliers, Regional Dell Factories, and other Dell functions.
2. Develop and manage project milestones and schedules for new finishes in the Dell notebook lines of business.
3. Drive quality improvements by eliminating sources of defects in the design, new product introduction, and supplier manufacturing processes.
4. Evaluate supplier performance and drive process improvement
5. Evaluate operational results against program goals & metrics
6. Manage program risks and issues, and drive issues to closure
7. Provide executive level updates on all program deliverables
QUALIFICATIONS SECTION
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Strong Command Skills, to lead the decision making process across multiple areas of the business.
2. Detailed decorative finsihes materials and process knowledge, including paint, film, anodizing, laser etching, etc.
3. Proficient in advanced quality management tools such as PPAP, FAI, SPC, DFMEA, 6-Sigma/BPI, and DOE.
4. Problem solving skills to provide solutions to technical issues involving the design or manufacturing of components and systems.
5. Executive presentation skills
Qualifications
6. 7+ years work experience in engineering mgmt., quality, or related technical function
7. B.S. in Engineering preferred.
8. Experience leading cross-functional teams
9. Strong written and oral communication skills
