Product Data Specialist

The Product Data Specialist provides data stewardship for product data critical to the enterprise. This role executes on product information management strategies to ensure CDW is able to leverage product data as a corporate asset. The Product Data Specialist gains product knowledge and interacts with master data management systems and processes to ensure quality data is leveraged throughout the organization.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Master and apply product knowledge through training, day-to-day experience and working with product management stakeholders
• Ensure the creation and maintenance of effective product attribution across multiple domains
• This individual is responsible to ensure data integrity across all systems as well as develop and enforce product data standards and procedures, which improves CDW's ability to master product data
• Identify and help drive process improvements to the maintenance and enhancement of product data as a critical component of CDW's go-to-market strategy
• Develop strong business relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Purchasing, and Finance

Responsibilities

• Interface with Partner and Product Management, vendor partners and data providers to develop and/or enhance product content and information work streams
• Apply product knowledge, critical thinking and problem solving to ensure accurate categorization for specified product categories and overall data stewardship
• Execute new product introductions and respond to product data change orders
• Recommend category specific improvements to master data management strategies. For example, improving supply chain efficiencies, strategies to improve partner funding, the sales/marketing and promotion of products
• Work interdepartmentally to maintain, gather and analyze reports and product data information from various partners to ensure consistency and efficiency across the business
• Assist in developing, enhancing, testing, and implementing of various internal system functionality
• Continuously improve understanding of product data management procedures, and their impact to business operations, in order to provide solutions and improve decision making

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
  or
• High School Diploma with a minimum of 3 years of CDW or IT Channel experience

Other Required Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and web browsing
• Strong working knowledge of Excel spreadsheet and database software applications, especially Excel
• Demonstrated ability to use internet and intranet systems to research/locate solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders including management. Ability to lead team meetings and conduct structured presentations to teams interdepartmentally.
• Demonstrated knowledge of personal computing technology and products
• Strong Attention to detail and customer focus
• Ability to effectively prioritize, follow-up, and meet deadlines with multiple tasks and projects.
• The ability to learn and demonstrate strong product knowledge for CDW product categories
• The ability to think critically to improve data management systems and manage multiple deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-4 years professional business experience
• Experience with MDM or other ERP type platforms
