The job
Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Material Planner is responsible for material planning, managing market escalation orders and response timely within service level.
Job Responsibilities
- Performing weekly and monthly follow up of forecasting and analysis for material planning
- Ensure replenishment, maintaining regular contacts with market companies and suppliers to balance flow of material
- Communicate shortages and expedite requirements to managers and customer service as necessary.
- Work with suppliers to ensure sufficient materials to support production
- Analyze deviation to reduce aging stocks or stock out and take appropriate action
- Participate in ad-hoc projects or duties assigned as part of cross functional exposure to drive continuous improvement methodology
- Diploma / degree holder with minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Prior material or production planning within a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Proficiency in SAP, Business Warehouse and MS Office
- Good communication and presentation skills to collaborate with internal and external parties
- Detail-oriented, analytical with positive mindset
- Self motivated and able to work in a fast and dynamic environment.
