The primary goal of the Technology Governance Risk & Control (TGRC) – Business Continuity Manager is to drive organizational preparedness and resiliency to disruptions around the world through the continued development and adoption of a comprehensive business continuity management program (business continuity, IT disaster recovery, crisis management and business impact and risk analysis capabilities) The Business Continuity Manager will lead a global team to assist Cargill Business Units and Functions develop, implement, and maintain unique plans, procedures and solutions to mitigate the negative effects of disruptive events and to ensure the business can resume operations as soon as possible with minimal interruption and loss.
 
This role will lead the key interfaces for internal teams and external managed services providers to insure that the continuity concerns of Cargill are being met through process and technology to provide the capacity to be able to absorb, respond to and recover from any type of event affecting the delivery of technology services.
 
This role will administer, maintain, develop, and implement enterprise policies, standards and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of electronic information and align the contingency, crisis, continuity, recovery, and resiliency of all technology services to enterprise information security objectives and compliance with external obligations & regulations.
 
The Business Continuity Manager will lead an enterprise program to deliver resiliency quality assurance for technology services offered at the levels of; enterprise, Platform / Shared Service Center (SSC), and individual location.
In partnership with the Platforms/ SSC, the Business Continuity Manager will provide guidance and tools to facilitate the assessment of critical business activities, risks and assist in the development and implementation of business continuity and crisis management plans
 
This role will take accountability to ensure that multi line of business projects, applications and data centers are developed, selected, deployed and tested in accordance with enterprise policies and standards.
 
The Business Continuity Manager is responsible for the development, deployment and testing of the enterprise crisis management response program and will coordinate such activities upon invocation.
 
The Business Continuity Manager will supply industry benchmarking and
coordinate Cargill’s representation.
 
Independent testing of critical Platform business continuity, disaster recovery and crisis management plans
 
20% - Governance
  • Lead and contribute to definition and maintenance of a comprehensive enterprise business continuity management (BCM) program (BC, DR, CM, Business Impact and Risk Analysis), policies, standards and governance framework
  • Leading conjunction with Global Security and Corporate Affairs, a multidiscipline cross functional team in the continued development, implementation and sustainment of the enterprise crisis management program for Cargill
  • Monitor, and align, BCM program objectives to Cargill’s Guiding Principles, Cargill’s Strategic Intent and external regulations. E.g. BS 25999, BS 25777, ISO/PAS 23999/22301
  • Gap analysis; current to goal state, benchmarking against peers, industry and regulations
  • Oversee the production of metrics and reporting; risk, capabilities, dashboard, compliance and quality assurance
  • Lead the definition and maintenance of operational model; Global playbook, Stakeholders RASCI
20% - Business Alignment
  • Manage relationships, foster collaboration with Cargill Business Unit and Function Leaders to drive organization and site preparedness and resiliency to disruptions around the world
  • Support requests from stakeholders to support business continuity related initiatives, to include: consultation in the development and execution of BCM plans and strategies, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures ad divestitures, in-house training and awareness, and support business unit business plan objectives
  • In conjunction with Employee Health and Safety (EH&S) drive alignment and connectivity with emergency action planning, response and testing
  • Lead enterprise Business Impact Analysis program; mission critical activities, recovery timeframes, requirements analysis
  • Establish critical supplier continuity; analysis, assessment, contract review, alternate sourcing, coordinate testing
  • Align Global IT to corporate crisis management plans, including IT preparedness, advanced scenario planning and readiness planning.
20% - Strategy & Plans
  • Assists in the preparation, maintenance and validation of IT Disaster Recovery (DR); resilience & recovery strategies, infrastructure / application and network recovery procedures, and invocation procedures for Global IT and managed service providers
  • Responsible for Global ITs crisis management response capability including plan development, maintenance, training and awareness
  • Responsible, in conjunction with Global Security and Corporate Affairs, for Cargill’s corporate crisis response capability including cross-functional leadership, plan development, maintenance, training and awareness
  • Assist in the coordination and development of business continuity and contingency plans, procedures and solutions to ensure business units and function teams are able to respond to situations such as natural disasters, civil unrest, geo-political events & pandemic planning
  • Serve on the Corporate Crisis Action Team and Global IT Crisis Action Teams by providing support and direction during actual emergency events
20% - Capabilities & Testing
  • Manage the identification, selection and deployment of Business Continuity Management technologies; vendor selection, software implementation and testing,
  • Define and lead enterprise program to test and verify DR Solutions for applications, infrastructure, data centers and related integrations and components; validate plans, team readiness, resilience of solutions tested and ; alignment to business objectives and funding
  • Assist Business Units and Functions test and verify BC and CM plans and solutions; coordinate and collaborate with EH&S and site management on tests of emergency action plans
  • Lead global event monitoring capabilities, drive situational awareness to global events across stakeholder group
20% - Talent Management & Development
  • Accountable for performance management, talent development, succession planning, coaching, and engagement of the team.
  • Manages and provides coaching to direct reports, including coaching Cargill core values.
  • Participates in selection of direct reports and plans for future workforce needs.
  • Manages resources and creates plans for workforce needs.
