Pacific Representative - DHB Disability Advisory Committee

Auckland District Health Board

Waitemata and Auckland District Health Boards currently have a vacancy for a co-opted member for our combined Disability Support Advisory Committee (DiSAC). This committee gives advice on the disability support needs of the resident population of both DHBs and priorities for use of the disability support funding provided.

We are seeking nominations from individuals with an interest in promoting inclusion and participation of people with disabilities in society, and maximising their independence, who can also represent the views and interests of the Pacific communities across both Auckland and Waitemata DHBs. The successful representative is expected to contribute to Pacific perspectives at the Governance level and provide input to items raised for discussion and/or recommendations which reflect the needs of Pacific peoples. At the same time the representative will need to be capable of taking a wider view of what is in the best interests of the population as a whole.

One representative only is being sought and the appointment term is until December 2016.

The representative would need to be available to attend 12-weekly meetings during normal working hours. Meeting times are: Wednesdays, 1.30 - 4.00pm and are currently held in Royal Oak. A meeting allowance is payable. The next scheduled DiSAC meeting is 19 November 2014. Additional detail is available by clicking this link:
