Welcome to the Child and Family Unit. We have 20 designated child and youth mental health inpatient beds, and a newly developed 3 bedded maternal mental health unit. Based in Starship Hospital we expect our staff to work collectively to enhance the wellbeing of our population.
We are looking for dynamic staff member, who ideally have experience in child and adolescent work, and/or child youth and family services. Participating in mental health assessments and treatment for young people who present to the service, Part of this role may include contributing to reports and a high standard of writing is required.
Must have a repository of Tikanga Maori knowledge (eg) Karakia, Whaikorero, Waiata, Hymn, Whakapapa.
Model the appropriate Maori male/female role of Tikanga in action, leadership (eg) cultural advise as and when appropriate, to increase the competence and confidence of Child family Unit staff through raising their cultural awareness, and individual cultural support needs to young people, families and the team.
The successful applicant needs to be fluent in Te Reo Maori, and able to articulate understanding of Te Reo Maori into English.
Knowledge of Maori models of health especially the Whare Tapa Wha kaupapa are essential.

A full and clean driver’s licence is essential.
