Description:
The Financial Accounting Team Lead position is part of the company’s Controller’s organization. The role is based in Bartlesville, OK, and is eligible for a flexible work schedule. The position will lead several members of the Financial Accounting team, in addition to monthly desk responsibilities.
Responsibilities may include:
- Provide guidance for closing questions and non-routine items as they occur
- Review and approve account reconciliations quarterly
- Consult with Treasury and business units on the accounting distribution of Treasury transactions to ensure correct SAP results
- SAP monthly and quarterly close and reporting, including the following responsibilities (perform / supervise):
- Prepare, review and post standard and non-standard journal entries
- Prepare or review roll-forwards as required
- Resolve/manage outstanding intercompany out of balances
- Record cash transactions and research and resolve cross month issues
- Participate as needed in preparation of 10Q and 10K footnotes/disclosures
- Provide assistance to Treasury in coordinating and completing internal and external financial audit requests, including SOX reporting
- Participate in special projects related to accounting issues affecting Treasury
- Responsible for certain foreign currency accounting and reporting including:
- Prepare and distribute corporate Exchange Gain / Loss reports and coordinate quarterly variance explanations
- Monitor currency translation adjustments (CTA) for cash flow reporting to resolve document type issues
- Prepare analysis for CTA related to cash and cash equivalents for cash flow consultant
- Provide information for 10Q and 10K Other Comprehensive Income footnote to External Reporting
- Prepare quarterly reports for foreign currency (FX) derivatives for 10Q and 10K filings
- Prepare and issue permanently invested loan list monthly.
- Post foreign currency reclass by Bat Code for Canada company codes
- Reconcile CTA accounts
- Maintain SOX control documentation for processes above
- Assist in support of outstanding special projects or changing workload as needed
Basic/Required:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting
- 5+ years of experience working in an accounting role
Preferred:
- Proficient (perform the skill with limited assistance) with SAP, BI, BCS, Excel and Microsoft Word
- Working knowledge of SAP Treasury Module
- Working knowledge of currency translation adjustment subject
- Ability to lead and provide guidance to team members
- Take initiative quickly and accurately resolving reconciliations issues
- Attention to detail and deadlines
- Strong analytical and accounting skills
- Strong interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- Manages tasks to effectively and efficiently complete work responsibilities of self and others
