Description
 
Oversee instrumentation and controls capital project installations.  Serve as the point of contact for engineering, contractors, fabricators, and vendors for instrumentation and controls.  Supervise contract employees.  Must be a Safety Leader and drive ConocoPhillips core values.
 
Responsibilities may include:
  • Involved in maintaining and applying ConocoPhillips specifications and design criteria.
  • Involved in applying industry recognized standards.
  • Assist in the development of each project’s instrumentation and control basis of design.
  • Ensures consistency of design with CPAI Automation requirements.
  • Participates in P&ID and other instrument and control drawing reviews.
  • Participates in process hazard analysis and safeguard evaluations.
  • Coordinate instrumentation and controls installation.
  • Assists in evaluation of RFQ’s and vendor proposals for major equipment.
  • Review Safety Instrumented Systems design.
  • Participates in the project risk management process.
  • Assists in factory acceptance testing and field inspections.
  • Participates on start-up team.
  • Helps prepare quality assurance/quality control programs and plans.
  • Involved in contractor selection/evaluation.
 
Basic/Required: 

Preferred: 

  • 5+ years experience instrumentation and controls
  • 5+ years of Oil and Gas SCADA Automation Controls & software experience
  • 5+ years of Automation Controls experience
  • 5+ years of liquid and gas measurement experience
  • Project management experience
  • Extensive knowledge of field operations and/or construction operations
  • Able to read P&ID's, Plot Plans, Cause and Effects, and Wire diagrams
  • Takes owndership of actions and follows through on commitments
  • Transmits information so it is received and understood in the way it was intended
  • Oriented toward continuous process improvement
  • Proficient (perform the skill with limited assistance) with Word, Excel, SAP, Access and Power Point
