At Awhinitia we aim to provide culturally sensitive, accessible and quality mental health assessment and treatment for people aged 18 to 64 years of age who reside in Takanini, Papakura and Franklin areas who are experiencing serious mental health problems.

We are seeking a hardworking and dedicated Occupational Therapist/Keyworker to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team.  Our Occupational therapist will provide a service which supports consumers’ recovery from mental illness, through assisting them to develop and maintain necessary level of performance in their usual roles and daily occupations.  This role is to provide an occupational perspective to the team as well as providing specialist and consultancy skills, practice and knowledge to team members and their clients, who present with occupational performance issues.  There are also Keyworker duties and the key worker responsibilities involve taking a central role in the co-ordination and monitoring of the development, implementation, and review of co-ordinated care plans for the consumers receiving services from the team.  Your strong commitment to recovery is essential.

You will be professionally supported by the team manager and Professional Leader and on going professional development is encouraged.

Essential

• New Zealand registered Occupational Therapist with current APC

• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience

• Full Current and clean New Zealand driver's licence

• Understands how mental illness impacts on the client's occupational performance, from the client's perspective

• Work with a variety of clients, including those with high acuity levels

We are also open to considering applications from experienced Occupational Therapists who are interested in working in Mental Health.
