Payroll & Benefits Team Lead

This is an exciting newly created position to provide leadership to the regional payroll & benefits operations team. You will also be required to take on the role of payroll & benefits administrator for Singapore & Malaysia. Reporting to the Reward Manager, you play a vital role in the HR Service Centre for South Asia, East Asia & Oceania to drive quality delivery of payroll & benefits administration services to our employees across 13 countries.

 

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day payroll & local benefits operations of South Asia, East Asia & Oceania countries to meet operational KPIs
• Direct hands-on responsibility for Singapore and Malaysia payroll & local benefits administration
• Proper update and management of Singapore and Malaysia master data in SAP
• Main point of contact for Global Mobility and external tax partners on the execution of expatriate payroll and taxation
• Management of payroll/benefits vendors and insurance brokers to ensure consistent quality delivery, compliance with SLA and cost effectiveness
• Continuous review of payroll, benefits and tax processes to implement alignment and changes leading to efficiency and best practices
• Collaborate with Reward/Benefits Specialists & Country HR Representatives in the successful implementation of global, regional or local initiatives
• Ensure compliance with local legal requirements, statutory/financial reporting and company policies
• Lead internal & external audits and closure of audit findings
• Act as escalation point for complex payroll and local benefits related requests
  
  

• Degree/Diploma in HR or Business Administration or other relevant qualifications
• Minimum 8 years related experience in local and expatriate payroll for the Asia Pacific region
• Experience in managing a mid-sized team (8 - 10 team members) in dispersed locations (minimal business travel required)
• Strong knowledge of payroll and benefits management as well as Asia Pacific local legislations
• Effective communication, interpersonal and vendor management skills
• Meticulous and results-oriented as well as self-motivated and able to work independently in a dynamic environment
• Adept in SAP, Microsoft Office & other IT applications, and strong numeric & analytical abilities
