Cargill Malt is seeking an EHS Associate at our Spiritwood, North Dakota facility. Position Overview and Principal Accountabilities:

The main purpose of this role will be to provide assistance with the EHS function, and to provide assistance to supervisors, Cargill staff, and contractors in the facility regarding Environmental, Health and Safety programs, and to assist with ensuring that the facility is in Safe operating condition at all times.

20% - Provide safety orientation and tours for new employees and contractors.

20% - Conduct plant inspections of various safety equipment, including but not limited to fire safety systems, and eye-wash and safety showers.

20% - Assist with training development and tracking, lead safety training sessions occasionally and provide guidance and leadership for various safety topics in the facility.

20% - Assist with tracking and maintaining site Behavior Based Safety systems, as well as conducting in the field observations.

20% - Assist with keeping policies and procedures current, and SOP and Lockout/tagout procedure development.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors' Degree in EHS or related technical field OR Associates Degree/Technical Degree in related field AND minimum 2 years EHS experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Individual must be able to build strong relationships with both internal and external customers
Demonstrated ability to interact with multiple levels of the facility and with outside agencies and customers
Willingness and ability to influence safety culture
OSHA regulation familiarization/experience in general industry and construction standards, understanding of behavior-based safety principles and application
Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Work, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

OSHA 30 training
Previous experience in Food processing industry – Brewing or Malting preferred but other processes considered as well
