POSITION SUMMARY:
The MRI Technologist, under the general direction of a Radiologist, performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Performs MRI procedures as per protocol for Radiological interpretation and uses all information available to determine if protocol is appropriate for given patient.
- Selects and operates magnetic resonance system, surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment to achieve desired results.
- Selects appropriate pulsing sequences respecting established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education, including Licensure / Certification / Registration
Two years of junior college required
Current and accredited CRT and ARRT or ARMRIT required
Current BLS for Healthcare providers (AHA) required
Experience
3 years MRI Tech and support experience preferred.
