EMT-Basic/Casual-On Call (Pelican Lake, WI)

Join our EMS team in Pelican Lake that is part of St. Mary's Hospital. We offer autonomy and are a self directed team. Northern Wisconsin is an ideal area for outdoor sports and activities. We have a small town atmosphere and are close to many lakes and resorts.
This is a casual, as needed position. Schedule will vary and includes every other weekend and holiday. On call required with a 15 minute response time to the Pelican Lake Fire Department.
Administers emergency medical care to the sick and injured. Works closely with department medical director, medical control physician, and other hospital personnel to maintain consistency in policy and working relationships. Works closely with Fire Departments, Law Enforcement Agencies, and Medical Examiners to maintain consistency in working relationships. Will be subject to being on call. Also assists other hospital departments as assigned. Participates in public educational activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Graduate of D.O.T. EMT course.
- Meets guidelines set forth by the National Registry of EMT's.
- Possess and maintains a valid Wisconsin Drivers license acceptable to the county's insurance carrier.
- Attend a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education relating to prehospital emergency care.
- Complete an approved EMT Refresher Course every two years.
- Maintain current CPR/BLS certificate for the health care provider.

Possess current State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician - Basic licensure. If individual filling position is a Registered Nurse, they must be currently licensed or able to become licensed to practice as an RN in Wisconsin (per DHS 110.5 (2).
