- Staff Nurse Specialty (Heart RN Surgery) -

St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton has a great opportunity for an experienced Staff Nurse to join their Heart Team.

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) day position.

Position Overview:

Primarily functions as perioperative nurse in the operating room, PACU, OPS, ASC, PACE / PAT (Preadmission consultation and education) and / or ENDO suite providing direct and indirect patient care.  Directs activities of other personnel within assigned room / unit.  Collaborates with other interdisciplinary patient care teams.     

Job Description:

• Demonstrates relevant knowledge and skills in providing patient care in relation to professional standards and established policy and procedures. 
• Utilizes the nursing process (assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation) in the provision of personalized, holistic patient care reflecting collaboration with the patient/significant  other.
• Assumes responsibility for patient assignment and demonstrates ability to organize, prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively.
• Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills to meet changing needs of patient and nursing unit.
• Acts as a patient advocate.
• Provides patient teaching to patients/families, staff and students.
• Exhibits professional, courteous, compassionate, and responsive contact in all forms of customer and team member communications.
• Documents according to hospital standards.
