Transnuclear Inc.:

Front-End Business Line:
The Front-End Business Line provides transportation, packaging, and other domestic and international logistical services for material in the front-end of the nuclear fuel cycle (e.g., uranium liquids, powder, pellets, complete fresh fuel assemblies, fissile/non-fissile products, medical sources, etc.) and for research reactor materials, including used nuclear fuel.
Job Description:
Transnuclear, Inc., a subsidiary of AREVA and premier provider of storage and transportation of spent nuclear fuel and other radioactive materials, is seeking a Project Manager.
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Manage projects related to domestic and international transportation of radioactive and nuclear materials: powder, pellets, fuel assemblies, UF6, research reactor fuel, etc.
- Interface with customers, suppliers, State and Federal agencies
- Consolidate transport schedule, logistics and technical need (including cask availability).
- Coordinate with transport analysts in charge of transport preparation and coordination.
- Interface with engineering group for projects involving cask design, licensing or manufacturing.
- Establish a working relationship with carriers and negotiate cost and schedule of conveyances in coordination with TN Inc Purchasing department.
- Ensure that shipping procedures are in place to meet regulatory requirements applicable to the shipments, and update procedures as necessary.
- Responsible for assuring those shipments are compliant with regulations.
- Assure all compliance objective evidence documentation is completed satisfactorily prior to shipment.
- Prepare and monitor budgets. Control projects' implementation and profitability.
- Prepare proposals and monitor contract execution.
- Be responsible for relation with customer (products) including identifying needs and executing contracts.
- Play an active role in business development with existing and new customers, and be prepared to present and promote TN Inc. products and services during customer visits and conferences.
- Participate in preparation of strategic plan, capture plan and commercial presentations.
- Monitor service levels to ensure that performance meets expectations.
- Plays an active role in creating a safe and healthy workplace and complying with all applicable safety and health rules.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
- BS Degree in Business, Engineering or similar field, or related experience in lieu of degree, plus 10-12 years of project work experience including Logistics experience. An advanced degree may be substituted for related exp. (MS 1-2 yrs. or PhD 1-3 yrs.).
- Incumbents should be working on or have achieved, and continue to maintain AREVA PM certification.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
- Logistics experience in the Nuclear Industry would be a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication. Able to prepare papers, and to handle presentation during conferences and customer meetings.
- Customer focused. Experience in business development, proposal development, contract negotiation.
- Effective team player with directly related experience in Project Scheduling/Budgeting.
- Result oriented, independent, and open to travel.
- Ability to speak English proficiently.
- Ability to speak French, is a plus.
TRAVEL
Sporadic (40%) domestic travel to visit customer sites and develop business.
