Overview
The Supervisor Warehousing & Distribution position oversees operations in support of the Techincal Operations division including receiving, binning, and shipping and maintain serviceable and unserviceable parts.  Responsible for the handling of hazardous materials and shipping department for Supply Chain.  Directs the distribution of all parts between the Distribution and Maintenance Departments system wide including AOG/AOMs. Responsible for the disposition of all surplus and excess material. Responsible to maintain accurate bin balances through accurate transactions and physical inventories. Manages the Distribution processing centers for outsourced component parts. Participates in design of automated solutions to decentralize warehousing activities.  Implement CI process within the Distribution and Warehousing organization. 
Responsibilities
  • Supervises the Warehousing & Distribution operations in support of the Tech Ops division including receiving, binning, shipping and maintaining serviceable and unserviceable parts
  • Responsible for the handling of hazardous materials including Domestic and International shipping
  • Directs the distribution of all parts including AOG/AOM shipments
  • Responsible for the disposition of all surpluses and excess material at their location
  • Responsible to maintain accurate bin balances through accurate transactions and physical inventories
  • Application of Lean processes within their warehouse location
  • Manages No Fault Found quarantine and Warranty processes
  • Develop and oversee internal audits related to facilities safety, shelf life, electro static discharge, tooling and bin maintenance. Manage personnel dependability and Time & Attendance systems where applicable
  • Conducts Incident/Accident investigations and reporting
  • Oversight of the departments training requirements and training schedule
  • Maintains employee records. Maintains compliant records required by UAL and governmental agencies
  • Assists in the development, implementation and management of systems and procedures to optimize the efficient flow of materials to and from United's customers, vendors and other airlines
  • Prepares forecasts and monitors performance, identifying trends and opportunities to improve performance
  • Coordinates staffing and other resource needs and ensures that safety and security requirements are fulfilled
  • Supervises and coordinates the distribution process and business plan for an assigned shift and or location at a parts distribution center to accomplish station, division and corporate goals and objectives
  • Coordinates the distribution planning operation to ensure the effective integration of the station and system distribution plans and objectives
  • Promotes and facilitates a working environment to foster improvement and employee team participation
  • Builds and maintains a positive rapport with Maintenance Customers and other adjacent departments
  • Serves as a mentor for succession planning to develop front line employees for advancement opportunities
Education
  • High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or education equivalent required
  • Associates Degree in aviation management, supply chain, business, or related fields or comparable management experience required
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience preferred

Certification

  • Dangerous Goods certification within 6 months preferred

Knowledge/Skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead and direct employees creating a positive work environment
  • Knowledge of workplace safety policies and procedures
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products required
  • Related aviation operations required  

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a leadership capacity required
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory or logistics experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of supply chain experience/certification preferred
Other
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is essential function of the position
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must possess a valid state issued Driver's License
  • Travel required approximately 15%
