Engineering Manager

The Engineering Manager role will ensure that the team obtains necessary competency to achieve functional excellence, while simultaneously meeting the objectives and commitments of R&D for business projects. In addition, the Leader will implement DBS, harmonize tools and processes used within team, and drive project/leadership team to allocate functional engineers across programs. The Leader should mentor, groom and grow engineering talent. He/She will also focus on increasing efficiency of the team and the entire project development.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Manage and deliver technology projects with multi-disciplinary teams while respecting deadlines

Drive project execution and key initiatives on time

Drive lean management principles in Engineering

Optimize and increase development productivity by devising innovation solutions or improving existing processes

Demonstrated ability to leverage technical and clinical people to identify and recommend technology strategies and product ideas

Bring a client-based approach to all aspects of development and client interactions when required

Develop and manage organizational structure to provide efficient and productive operations

Provide issues resolution to all direct reports, escalating issues when necessary with appropriate substantiation and suggestions for resolution

Provide required expertise to all prioritization, methodology, and development initiative

Drive product quality improvements

Work with Product Management and other teams to meet organization initiatives

Masters/Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline or equivalent

Minimum 4-7 years of experience with three years project/program management or equivalent

Ability to learn complex systems and business processes and define requirements for solutions Business experience to manage all functional budget responsibilities (current & planning), and to support decision-making processes

Excellent presentation and communication skills In-depth knowledge of systems development life cycle and methodologies

Ability to balance and prioritize a large volume of initiatives simultaneously

Lean process knowledge and experience desired
