A Distribution Supervisor provides Children’s with efficient and effective inventory management and distribution functions. Directs and coordinates the daily activities of the mail center, distribution team leads and technicians.  Ensures the prompt and effective distribution of supplies needed by the system. Develops team members through mentoring and training to further enhance the department’s efficiency. Functions as a resource for system staff in regards to supply inventory/distribution needs.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Supervises the work of team leads and techs to insure daily completion of department activities, including but not limited to: customer service goals, receiving, put-away, inventory rotation, shelf management, order selection, product staging, and expense management.
  2. Works with Requester, Facilities, Purchasing, and Sourcing to coordinate the receipt, staging and delivery of equipment and supplies for projects while maintaining a safe work environment.
  3. Monitors and adjusts Omnicell inventory levels to achieve department goals related to fill rate, inventory turnover, stock rotation and customer service (at hospital campus locations).
  4. Facilitates and/or actively participate in System-wide inventory planning activities, working closely with Logistics, Procurement, Clinical Operations and business partners.  Provides critical input into the development of the supply network as it expands to meet Children's needs.
  5. Analyzes processes and metrics to implement improvements and measure outcomes to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the department (i.e. Omnicell report).
  6. Monitors Exception Reporting in Lawson to delegate actions, identify trends and partner with appropriate teams on process improvements (i.e. INR, unshipped returns, mobile supply chain, buyer expediting/bypass report).  
  7. Develops, mentors, and trains team leads and techs so as to provide complete understanding of the supply chain mission and vision. 
  8. Monitors the budget/spend for the cost center and makes recommendations for future budgeting (including overtime, uniforms, vehicle maintenance, repairs and minor equipment).
  9. Understands and ensures compliance with all OSHA and Children’s safety regulations, policies and procedures.
  10. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business or 6 years equivalent experience in healthcare or related field preferred.
  • 4 years experience in inventory management and distribution operations preferred
  • 4 years supervisory experience with strong, demonstrable track record of team building and training required.
  • Excellent analytical skills (ability to define problems, quantify impact, design and implement improvements and measure success) required.
  • Strong project management skills preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) required.
  • Experience inventory control systems required; Proficiency in Lawson module strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, required.
  • Availability to work unscheduled hours required.
  • Valid Georgia driver license required.
  • Eligibility for coverage under Children’s motor vehicle insurance provider required.
