Under the direction of bothBusiness Unit Managers, the Business Unit Leader will initiate, track and driveproductivity and manage daily operations on 2nd Shift.  This position is the point person forproduction, quality and sanitation activities and personnel on 2ndshift.
1) Responsible for managing the daily production operations, including OEE, optimization of Labor/Crewing, and compliance to schedule.  Investigate and develop corrective action and root cause analysis of efficiency and performance issues encountered on daily/weekly basis.  Create a reporting system for 2nd shift line and shift performance and communicate to opposite shifts to ensure follow-up and resolution of outstanding issues.
 
2)  Ensure that all quality standards are being followed in accordance with Kraft Foods policies/ISO/BRC regulations.  Hold root cause meetings and corrective action follow up required for all Hold Orders within 5 working days.  Optimize and coordinate completion of PIC/PEC for 2nd and 3rd shifts.  Manage and report out completion and gaps.
 
3)  Manage, develop and coordinate productivity projects associated with crewing and/or performance optimization and provide a monthly report out regarding progress and support required. Analyze weekly/monthly cost performance with respect to labor variance, performance variance and raw/pack cycle count variances.  Ensure 2nd, 3rd shift ordering process is structured and standardized to eliminate out of materials and minimum order requirement for department.  Communicate material concerns in a timely fashion and work with logistics and scheduling counterparts.
 
4) Manage, develop and mentor direct reports. Develop and communicate shift KPI’s through shift meetings.  Enforce compliance to plant rules/regulations and support supervision with respect to disciplinary and consistency within shift. Oversee Direct Report’s Level 2 Meetings.  Manage, support and provide feedback towards employee training program.
 
5) Co Lead KSRMP Team, conduct and develop shift GEMBA program, conduct weekly Quality Audits with supervisors.
6) Develop synergies between both units in the areas of Labor, Safety, Quality and Sanitation.
 
7) Fill in for vacation/absent supervision if needed.
