Hospice Aide - Neenah (Casual-Position)

At Affinity Visiting Nurses/Ministry Home Care, we are focused on providing quality, compassionate care.  As a Hospice Aide in our Neenah office, you will provide one-on-one care and support to patients and their families allowing them to experience their remaining time as fully as possible.  This position is about giving everything possible to ensure the best quality of life during end of life care.  Under the supervision of the Hospice Supervsor & Hospice RN, the hospice aide provides safe, personal patient care in the patient's place of residence.  As a hospice aide you will be surrounded by a supportive network of qualified professionals working toward a common goal, the patient. .

Casual position

 

In this position, the incumbent will:  

 

Provide total care or assists patient with:

·        Bed Bath or tub bath, or shower

·        Weighing patients

·        Taking vital signs

·        Remind patient to take medication as specified by RN

·        Dental, hair, and nail care, shaving, dressing/undressing

·        Ambulating, transferring, positioning by using assistive devices such as walker, wheelchair, and prescribed ROM

·        Provide light housekeeping tasks such as doing patient's personal laundry, vacuuming, sweeping, dishes, and tidying the bathroom after bathing the patient.

·        Provide emotional support to patients/families throughout the continuum.  Works tactfully with all staff throughout the agency.

·        Observe, report, and document physical and/or behavioral changes in the patient immediately to the RN per established policies. 

 

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Listed on the State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Registry
  • LPN with current Wisconsin license may also be considered
  • CPR Certified or eligible to obtain
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license, use of car and proof of auto insurance required.
  • Computer experience
  • Experience in health care field preferred.
