- To standardize, increase efficiency and effectiveness to sanctions and AML screening processes across Citi
- Manage GSO’s regional screening hub in KL
- Coordinate screening activities among the different operations groups for each region, covering multiple business sector/countries, and conducting continued oversight of the groups responsible of screening operations to ensure consistency and adequacy of screening mechanisms under sound internal control practices
- Will oversee the migration into GSO’s hub of screening activities currently performed at the country level and rollout
- Oversee and/or manage GSO’s in-country site where the screening function cannot be migrated into the GSO’s regional hub due to local regulations
- Full management responsibility of the APAC regional screening operations and hub in the region, including management of people, budget and planning
- Provides strategic direction for the APAC region and screening operations hub
- Drives end results of the APAC screening operations hub as well as the regional oversight of in-country name screening processes and exercises control over the hub’s resources, policy formulation and planning
- Activities primarily affect name screening operations across the APAC region
- Engages in short to medium term planning of actions and resources
- Manages complex and highly variable issues with substantial impact
- Applies comprehensive understanding of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area
- Evaluates subordinates performance and make recommendations for pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions
- Ensures essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards
- Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of how name screening operations integrates within the overall function to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry and regulatory environment
- Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources
- Excellent communication skills is required in order to negotiate internally, often at senior levels (across functions); communicates with external parties
- Serve as the SME for sanctions and AML name screening operations
- Implement global processes of sanctions and AML name screening activities to ensure standardization across Citi
- Coordinate implementation of sanctions screening regional operational processes and identify operational efficiencies and ensure consistency
- Provide guidance on sanctions and AML screening operations and serve as point of escalation to route emerging issues to sanctions and/or AML compliance
- Provide guidance and coordination of overall regional sanctions and AML name screening operational processes
- Supports the execution of the global technology strategy (roadmap) for sanctions and AML screening
- Participates in business projects and new product evaluations related to sanctions and AML screening
- Analyzes and improves the operational processes and recommending solutions to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with key stakeholders, regional, and country compliance, operations and technology
- Provides analysis and advisory on control related issues; interacting with audit in coordination to sanctions and AML compliance
- Provides training and mentoring to GSO’s team on screening techniques, internal systems, products and sanctions policy and regulations
- Interacts with the applicable Citi businesses in ensuring implementation of global sanctions compliance directive, AML screening policy and/or audit remediation
- Supporting implementation of new products during UAT of systems and processes
- Building and applying knowledge of screening processes
Qualifications:
- With background in Banking, Finance or Business
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, interact effectively to different levels of management
