Product Manager (Mobile Software & Applications)

The Product Manager drives revenue through the integration and development of products and services within the CDW portfolio. This individual keeps current on the mobile software and applications market and understands how to create opportunities around these emerging spaces and CDW’s core products. In addition, the Product Manager works with partner development management to secure Co-Op funding to support marketing activities, maintains part numbers within the product portfolio and works closely with segment leaders to develop customer segment focus and product leaders to define solutions. An important part of the role will be to define the mobile software and applications ecosystem for CDW to deploy successful solutions and provide differentiation for CDW. The product manager oversees products, solutions, processes, projects and campaigns and aligns closely with PPM Applications and Software Product Managers.
Key Areas of Responsibility

Grow revenue and overall profitability for the assigned product category.

Manage product, promotion, price, competitive positioning and sales awareness.

Maintain expert knowledge in the mobile software and applications product portfolio as the subject matter expert.

Define CDW’s mobile software and applications strategy and provide thought leadership within CDW, and in the market, working with the software and cloud teams.

Define service bundles including mobile software and applications and other core CDW products.

Identify, manage and support partners necessary to build a robust CDW mobile applications and software ecosystem, including application developers, tools, platforms BaaS, etc.

Develop marketing plans for the mobile applications and software product portfolio.

Maximize sales revenue, profit and partner Co-Op for specific product categories through strategic planning and marketing.

Recommend pricing strategies, monitor competitive activity, oversee product information and identify customer needs.

Interface with vendors to develop or enhance the marketing of product(s) or product line(s), and manage Co-Op and MDF funding.

Manage SKUs and SOWs per product categories.

Optimize catalog and e-commerce merchandising strategy for the category.

Identify key emerging technologies and partners within the category.

Forecast sales volumes, run product forecasts and proactively manage measurable category goals.

Analyze industry information to identify opportunities and strategies to increase partner sales within CDW.

Build and maintain successful relationships with partners and act as the liaison and escalation point between CDW and the partner.

Create annual Business plan for the respective category.

Align and communicate with Segment marketing.
Responsibilities

Approve content for respective manufacturer ads.

Prepare sales training.

Work with Mobility Marketing to prepare materials to communicate solutions internally and externally.

Prepare category summaries, category reviews and market share reports on monthly/quarterly basis.

Watch pricing for specific product categories, along with monitoring rebates and promotional offers.

Build a robust CDW mobile applications and software ecosystem.

Define mobile applications and software product bundles.

Secure and analyze industry research.

Prepare competitive assessments of major players in the mobile software and applications space.
Key Metrics and Success Measures

Key measures of success for this position will be product category revenue, Partner Co-Op and overall PCM
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 years CDW PPM experience
- 5 years marketing experience in a business to business environment.
Other Required Qualifications
- Proven track record in marketing product lines with the ability to manage products through their lifecycle, customer engagement scenarios, and product positioning issues.
- Strong understanding of the dynamics of cross-functional teams, with the ability to creatively problem solve.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact and present to all stakeholders including senior leadership.
- Demonstrated financial and analytical skills.
- Successful history of building and maintaining internal and external partner relationships at all levels.
- Working knowledge of WinPurch, Pricing Matrix, FileMaker, Attribute Editor, SPS, CoreMetrics, ProClarity , Microsoft Office Suite.
